JOB Description

The Department Head of IT Security Operations will lead the bank’s efforts in implementation of security operational controls to protect its digital assets and ensure the secure operation of technology infrastructure. This strategic role requires a security expert who can proactively remediate security risks, respond to incidents, and oversee a team responsible for implementation of security safeguarding controls for Network, Systems and Data. Reporting to the Division Head of IT Operations, this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with leadership for the compliance of the bank’s security strategy for the global MCB Operations.

Responsibilities

Implement, and manage the bank’s IT security operations strategy in line with Bank’s Information Security Policy and best practices.
Be part of the incident response team and direct the protocols, coordinate with relevant IT and security teams during security incidents, and play an active role for the root cause analysis and remediation efforts.
Ensure timely remediation and mitigation of security risks arising from the security testing, compliance assessments, SOC security cases & pro-active threat detection, and other controls based identified risk across the IT infrastructure & teams.
Ensure compliance with financial regulatory frameworks, compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, SWIFT CSCF, ISO 27001, etc.) and manage audit preparation and responses.
Build and mentor a dedicated SECSOPS team, promoting skill development and maintaining high engagement levels within the team.
Liaison with Information Security teams for the security controls governance and implementation.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Experience	10+ years in IT security operations, Network Security and Infrastructure Security with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role within the banking or financial services sector.
Education	Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity/Information Technology or related field; Master’s degree preferred. (CISSP, CISA, CISM, or other relevant security certifications are highly valued)
Technical Skills	In-depth knowledge of network security, threat management, endpoint protection, and incident response.
Leadership Abilities	Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and make critical decisions under pressure.
