General Manager (Audit)

Requirements

Education requirement is CA, ACCA, ACMA, MBA Finance with at least 10 years of related banking experience. CIA would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review, approve and issue internal audit reports in E-Audit system whilst ensuring that significant issues highlighted during the review have been adequately addressed.
  • Monitor overall budgetary control of the audit circle and manage availability of Human Resource per allocated HR budgets.
  • Facilitate communication with management, Audit Committee and external auditors.
  • Prepare operational audit plan for obtaining approval from CIA / Division Head in E-Audit.
  • Implement and monitor operational audit plan and seek approval for any deviation.
  • Finalize initial risk assessment of all groups / divisions / controlling offices etc. and develop overall Annual Internal Audit Plan for approval of Audit Committee.
  • Disseminate the Annual Audit Plan and operational plan to the Region Head (Audit) through E-Audit system.
  • Approve the scope and budget of each assignment in consultation with the Region Head (Audit).
  • Communicate with management about issues and their resolution.
  • Keep audit team informed through regular update meetings or at the debriefing meeting as to the issues identified and discussions with the management.
  • Ensure the audit work has been adequately reviewed and issues have been reported by the Region Head (Audit) in audit reports.
  • Review results of quality assurance review of audit assignments and link them to training and development plans.
  • Evaluate training needs while appraising Performance to improve HR capabilities; and
  • Ensure compliance of bank’s approved policies, guidelines, manuals, procedures etc. and government laws and regulations, IIA standards etc. to make audit activity effective.
  • Ensure timely completion of investigations marked to Region Head (Audit). Review draft investigation reports issued by Region Head (Audit) prior to issuance thereof.
  • Ensure archival of evidence of review of working papers by Region Head (Audit).
  • Periodic or Surprise visits of branches as prescribed by Chief Internal Auditor or given in audit master data or given in bank’s approved policies, guidelines, manuals and procedures etc.
  • Suggest changes required in Audit Master Data to Division Head (Audit) on the basis of feedback from Region Head (Audit) or other audit staff.
  • Hold regular meetings with auditee to discuss audit results as well as emerging risks.
  • Any other responsibility assigned by Division Head (Audit).
