Unit Head Fraud Investigation - South

JOB Description

Responsibilities of Unit Head Fraud Investigation include the following:

  • Manage and monitor execution and overall performance of investigations assigned to Fraud Investigation Unit.
  • Develop scope and budget for each investigation assignment.
  • Facilitate communication with management for smooth execution of investigations.
  • Review the work performed by team members on a timely basis and ensure that facts / findings noted during investigation have been adequately reported in E-Audit system.
  • Review Investigation Reports and share final drafts with respective General Manager (Audit) for review in E-Audit system.
  • Analyze issues identified, establish root cause along with reasons behind breakdown(s) in controls and suggest / recommend appropriate solutions / measures to improve controls / procedures in order to minimize / eliminate recurrence of fraud incidents.
  • Evaluate the deficiencies in internal control design, identified during investigation, and ensure their reporting in the investigation report.
  • Provide guidance on what needs to be documented by taking into account the complexity of the investigation assignment.
  • Discuss Quality Assurance Review findings of investigations carried out by respective Fraud Investigation Unit with his team members for their awareness and development.
  • Monitor staffing needs and coach team members on an ongoing basis.
  • Review the assignment working paper file to ensure that the work is appropriately documented and reviewed in line with the Internal Audit Framework.
  • Ensure that the working paper file is adequately prepared and retained.
  • Ensure that results / conclusions of investigations are consistent with the investigation findings and appropriately documented.
  • Suggest changes / additions for improvement in SOPs for Investigations of Fraud, Forgery, dacoity Incidents etc., to Quality Assurance & Framework Development Department.
  • Evaluate training needs of staff within Fraud Investigation Unit and ensure provision of necessary trainings for fostering of investigative skills in consultation with Quality Assurance & Framework Development Department.
