Raast Person to Merchant (P2M) allows businesses to accept seamless digital payments through all Raast-enabled banking apps. Customers can make transactions across multiple platforms, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience.

Your Guide to Seamless Payments

All Raast enabled banking apps can conduct Raast P2M QR transactions. Simply follow the below steps if you are a MCB Live user,
  1. To make payment through QR
    • Open QR scanner
    • Scan RAAST P2M QR
    • For static QR codes, enter the payment amount manually or for dynamic QR codes, the amount will be auto-filled.
    • Proceed to confirm the transaction.
    • Get transaction payment receipt
  2. To make payment through ALIAS
    • Open Pay to Merchant
    • Select Alias type from the dropdown
    • Enter amount
    • Get transaction payment receipt
  3. To make payment through IBAN
    • Open Pay to Merchant
    • Enter IBAN
    • Enter amount
    • Get transaction payment receipt

Merchants can receive funds by sharing their Raast QR, Alias (VPA), or IBAN with customers. Customers complete the transaction via Raast-enabled banking apps, and merchants receive a payment confirmation message.

  1. Receiving business payments through Raast P2M ALIAS
  2. Share the ALIAS ID (VPA) with customer
  3. Customer will enter the ALIAS ID and proceed to transaction
  4. Receive payment confirmation message

  1. Receiving business payments through Raast IBAN
  2. Share the IBAN with the customer
  3. Customer will enter the IBAN and proceed with the transaction
  4. Receive payment confirmation message

Merchants new to MCB Live can register by following these steps:
  1. Open MCB Live App and select "New Merchant."
  2. Input Merchant ID, ID Type, CNIC, and DOB for validation.
  3. Provide account and mobile numbers, receive an OTP, and verify.
  4. Set username and password, accept terms and conditions, and complete registration.
  5. Login, register the device as a trusted device by providing an OTP, and allow location permissions (optional).
  6. Complete biometric verification; if failed twice, visit the nearest MCB branch.
Cooling Period: A 2-hour cooling period applies for fraud prevention and system validation before new merchants can process financial transactions. Existing merchants upgrading to Raast P2M are exempt from this waiting period.

MCB’s merchant can create their RAAST ID by using VPA (virtual payment address).
Below mentioned steps will be followed for creation of Merchant RAAST ID:
  • Merchant will select “Manage RAAST ID” from Dashboard.
  • Merchant will enter VPA on the next screen in the format of “xxxxxxxx@MCB”.
  • (VPA is an 8-Digit Business Name@MCB. For example: Kitchen@MCB).
  • Merchants will see the associated account, which will be automatically selected for the Raast ID.
  • Merchant will tap on "Create".
  • Merchant will review the details and tap on "Confirm".
  • OTP screen will appear.
  • Merchant will input the OTP received on their mobile number and tap "Verify".
  • Merchant will be prompted for successful RAAST ID creation as a Merchant Alias.

A1: The QR Standard aims to promote a cash-lite society by enabling low-cost acceptance points (QR codes) for seamless digital payments.

A2: The project includes:
  • Merchant registration via the MCB Live app.
  • QR code generation for payments.
  • Processing payments through multiple digital methods.

A3: Merchants can follow these steps:
  1. Open the MCB Live app.
  2. Select "Are You a Merchant" and choose the "Merchant" option.
  3. Enter the 15-digit Merchant ID to complete registration.

A4:
  • Merchants can log in to the MCB Live app and select "Generate QR Code" .
  • They can choose between:
    • Static QR: Automatically assigned after registration (deployed within a few days).
    • Dynamic QR: Merchants enter the amount & bill number each time they generate a QR.
  • The QR code can be saved, shared, or regenerated .

A5: Customers can make payments by:
  1. Opening the MCB Live app and selecting "QR Payment" .
  2. Scanning or uploading the QR code .
  3. Entering the payment amount and confirming the transaction using an OTP.
  4. Receiving a payment confirmation instantly.

A6: Customers can make payments via:
  • Pay to Merchant QR (Scan & Pay).
  • Pay to Merchant Alias (Till Code / Virtual Payment Address).
  • Pay to Merchant IBAN (Direct transfer to IBAN).

A7:
  • Merchants can initiate a Request to Pay by selecting the customer’s account/IBAN and entering the payment details.
  • The customer receives a pending request in the MCB Live app.
  • The customer can approve or reject the request.
  • Once approved, the transaction is processed instantly.

A8: The Raast system ensures seamless interoperability:
  • The payment is processed via Raast.
  • The customer’s account is debited, and the merchant’s account is credited instantly.
  • Transactions work across all Raast-enabled banking apps.
